Charamel at the Healthcare Hackathon in Mainz

13.06.2019

From June 5th to 6th Charamel was at the Health Hackathon in Mainz and participated in the IBM initiated Avatar Challenge. The aim of the challenge was to develop a digital contact for patients in obstetrics in order to create a central contact point and relieve the hospital staff.

On two days the team of Charamel and IBM realized an interactive Enhanced Service Platform with the 3D Avatar HUB using our software VuppetMaster and a connection to Watson. Before, during and after their stay at the University Hospital of Mainz, HUB provides patients with a wide range of important information about their stay. HUB brings health care facilities and patients closer together and is an example of successful digitization projects in medical facilities. In addition, all specialist content can be created and adapted independently and specifically by the facilities across all hospitals. Thus the chatbot can guarantee a high reusability. In the 3-minute pitch presentation, the results of the hack were presented to the jury.

The result: An invitation to the continuation and presentation at Healthack in Berlin, in which Health Minister Jens Spahn will also participate.

We thank you for the great cooperation and look forward to further innovative projects!
