Dissertation Avatar-based car radio navigation system for Audi supported by Charamel
Drivers of modern cars need an easy access to information of the cars. An innovative procedure to provide information also during the journey to, is a Avatar-based help system with natural speak. Within the scope of the disseratation Valentin Antonius Nicolescu develops an architecture which is applied to the automotives domain and is based on Charamels CharActor technology. The Avatar-system was integrated in an Audi vehicle and was examined with test persons. The results show that an Avatar-system is a promising procedure for multimodal user interfaces as a help-system in cars.
The author studied at the University of Technology of Munich in the chair of economic informatics and developed within the scope of a project for Audi the Avatar system.
